Healthcare and Medical Industry: Enhancing Accessibility for Diverse Patient Communities
In the healthcare sector, clear communication is critical to ensuring that patients receive the care and information they need. This August, we partnered with several health institutions to help them bridge language gaps and serve their diverse patient populations.
One leading health organization in Northern California relied on our expertise to translate over 120,000 words into multiple languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Punjabi, Farsi, Arabic, and Armenian. By ensuring that critical medical information is accessible to all patients, this health provider is fostering a more inclusive environment for their multilingual community. Another prominent medical institution in the same region sought our services to translate over 180,000 words into Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Armenian, and Farsi, ensuring that important health documents reached patients from various linguistic backgrounds.
We also had the opportunity to support a national association dedicated to community health by providing 41 hours of Computer-Assisted Real-Time Translation (CART) services. These services enabled Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals to fully participate in important health discussions, furthering accessibility in healthcare. Additionally, we worked with an international health-focused organization, translating over 56,000 words into Portuguese, Spanish, and French, while also handling desktop publishing to ensure that the translated materials were professionally formatted for presentation.
Corporate and Manufacturing: Bridging Cultures for Global Collaboration
In the corporate world, effective communication across languages is essential for global collaboration. This August, we partnered with several multinational companies to facilitate communication and ensure the success of their events and initiatives.
One leading automotive manufacturer hosted a major event that required full-day interpreting services in Korean. Our interpreters were on hand to ensure that critical discussions proceeded smoothly, helping the company’s international stakeholders communicate clearly and effectively. Another global event saw us providing both Spanish and American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting, along with CART services, ensuring that all attendees—including Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants—had full access to the proceedings.
Additionally, we supported an organization known for managing large-scale corporate events by providing 96 hours of ASL interpreting. This extensive service ensured that the company could deliver an inclusive experience for all attendees, regardless of their hearing abilities. In another major project, we translated 61,000 words from and into Spanish, Slovak, Portuguese, and French for a medical products company, helping them communicate vital information to their international markets.
Government and Security: Facilitating Global Dialogues
In the realm of government and security, effective communication is key to ensuring that diverse communities and international audiences can participate in critical dialogues. This month, we supported several important initiatives in these sectors.
We provided simultaneous interpreting services for a large-scale counterterrorism conference organized by a leading security and defense contractor. The conference involved participants from various countries, and we facilitated communication in Bosnian and Albanian, ensuring that key discussions could be carried out smoothly without language barriers.
Additionally, we worked with an important state commission focused on disability access, translating over 17,000 words into multiple languages, including Arabic, Armenian, Cambodian, Hmong, Laotian, Thai, Farsi, Hindi, Punjabi, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and both Traditional and Simplified Chinese. By making information available in these languages, the commission is helping to promote accessibility for all communities across the state, ensuring that people with disabilities have access to the resources they need.

As we look back on the projects, we’ve completed this month, it’s important to recognize August as a time for celebrating linguistic diversity. August 9th marks the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, a day dedicated to promoting and preserving the rights, cultures, and languages of indigenous populations worldwide. This day shines a spotlight on the nearly 7,000 indigenous languages spoken globally, many of which are in danger of disappearing.

- More than 2,680 languages are at risk of extinction, with indigenous languages being particularly vulnerable. Preserving these languages is vital to maintaining the cultural identity and heritage of indigenous communities.
- UNESCO has declared 2022-2032 as the International Decade of Indigenous Languages, underscoring the importance of promoting and revitalizing indigenous languages around the world.
