Education: Cultivating Linguistic Inclusion

Language services play a pivotal role in the education sector, facilitating effective communication and access to educational resources for diverse populations. In an increasingly globalized world, language barriers can hinder learning opportunities and academic success. Language services bridge these gaps, ensuring equal access to education for all students, regardless of their linguistic background. From translation of educational materials to interpretation services during lectures and meetings, language services empower educational institutions to foster inclusivity and diversity, enhancing the quality of education for everyone involved.

In April, AML-Global provided comprehensive language solutions to numerous educational institutions throughout the United States. We handled the translation of more than 195,000 words from English into Spanish, Burmese, Russian, as well as simplified and traditional Chinese for a prestigious university situated in California. Additionally, we delivered over 27 hours of American Sign Language (ASL) services to another respected university on the West Coast. Moreover, AML-Global demonstrated outstanding language services for a prestigious institution in the southeastern region, offering extensive Video Remote Interpretation (VRI), Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART), Voice Recording, Spanish transcription, and Spanish interpretation. Healthcare Harmony: Bridging Language Gaps in Healing

In the healthcare sector, language services serve as a critical bridge, ensuring effective communication between healthcare providers and patients who speak different languages. Language barriers can impede access to quality healthcare, lead to misunderstandings, and compromise patient outcomes. Language services, including interpretation and translation, play a vital role in overcoming these barriers, promoting patient-centered care, and ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all individuals, regardless of their linguistic background.

In April, AML-Global played a pivotal role in providing comprehensive language services to a prominent healthcare institution in Baltimore. Through Virtual Remote Interpretation services, AML-Global facilitated seamless communication in Spanish, French, European Portuguese, and Brazilian Portuguese, among other languages. Additionally, AML-Global supplied 150 hours of American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting to a significant entity dedicated to cancer research, enhancing accessibility for individuals with hearing impairments. Additionally, AML-Global delivered translation services to an academic health institution on the West Coast- we translated 20,000 words into Arabic, Armenian, Farsi, Haitian Creole, Pashto, Thai, Punjabi, Khmer, Hmong, Japanese, Tagalog, and various other languages, ensuring that crucial medical information reached diverse patient populations effectively.

Legal Legacies, Corporate Connections, and Beyond: AML-Global’s Multifaceted Impact

AML-Global stands out as a multifaceted business, adept at delivering language solutions across various sectors including legal, corporate, governmental, or non-profit. In the legal arena, AML-Global highlighted its expertise by providing translation services, efficiently translating 105,000 words in Spanish, Korean, Chinese, and French, while also delivering 28,000 words of translation for a legal administration services entity in Spanish. These services ensured accurate communication and comprehension across linguistic boundaries, which is crucial when it comes to legal proceedings and administrative tasks.

Additionally, our CART (Communication Access Real-Time Translation) services have proven invaluable in promoting accessibility, particularly for individuals with hearing impairments. AML-Global provided over 24 hours of CART services to a consulting company, enabling real-time transcription of spoken language into text, thereby facilitating effective communication and inclusivity in meetings and consultations. Through our diverse language and accessibility services, AML-Global continues to empower organizations across sectors to overcome language barriers and promote equal access to information and opportunities.

Which are the easiest and the hardest languages to learn?

Language learning is an enriching yet demanding endeavor that requires dedication, time, and perseverance. Understanding the relative difficulty of different languages can help learners set realistic fluency goals.

According to the Foreign Service Institute, languages closely related to English typically take 24-30 weeks (600-750 hours of practice) to achieve professional working proficiency. Among these are Danish, Dutch, French, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish (Latin America or Spain), and Swedish. On the other hand, languages with significant linguistic differences, such as Arabic, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Japanese, and Korean, require 88 weeks (2200 hours of practice) or more to reach the same level of proficiency. While each language presents its own challenges, understanding these differences can inform learners’ language-learning strategies and expectations.
