Over the summer AML-Global helped some great organizations by providing interpreting and interpreting equipment services to help facilitate very important international events
An interesting project that we had a chance to work on was a GM Mexico Conference in Las Vegas, providing Spanish interpreting and interpreting equipment for GM’s Mexican Dealers. The event was organized by a well-known destination management company. A DMC is a professional services company with local knowledge, expertise and resources, coordinating the design and execution of events. AML-Global works with numerous DMC’s as well as meeting planning and event agencies providing language services across the nation and world.
Another example of the wide variety of work we participated in this past summer was an assignment for Singularity University, a Silicon Valley think tank that offers educational programs and a business incubator. Needing Japanese interpreting for a summer workshop program, the university reached out to AML-Global and we were able to make the program a huge success providing expert service by some of the top Japanese interpreters in the country.
Further examples of challenging yet fascinating assignments were for such well known organizations such as Sotheby’s Institute of Art and Caterpillar.
In New York City this August we had a chance to work with Sotheby’s Institute of Art providing Mandarin Interpreting for training and field visits to Chinese students. These students come to Sotheby’s campuses from around the world to get expert classroom and onsite training in the world’s great art capitals and further develop the professional expertise needed in the art industry. On top of the conference interpreters, AML-global provided sound reduction booths, headsets and receivers, and technical support. In Atlantic City AML ‘Global provided high level Japanese interpreting and fully encapsulated booths for Caterpillars worldwide dealers meeting In’ New York City AML-Global provided French interpreting to organizations like the United Nations and Patek Phillipe covering important international conferences and museum exhibits of priceless art.
Important Translation Projects
Summer 2017 was also very eventful at AML-Global in the translation field.’ Natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods affecting the Atlantic coast resulted in huge damage and AML-Global provided minute by minute translations for the American Red Cross of vital information to the affected Spanish speaking population in those areas. Hurricane Harvey was the costliest tropical cyclone on record, inflicting nearly $200’billion (2017 USD) in damage, primarily from widespread flooding in the Houston metropolitan area. It was the first major hurricane to make landfall in the United States since Wilma in 2005. The resulting floods inundated hundreds of thousands of homes, displaced more than 30,000’people, and prompted more than 17,000’rescues.
Massive disasters like Hurricane Harvey create more needs than any one organization can meet on their own. Organizations like The Red Cross work very closely with the entire response community ‘ government agencies, other non-profit groups, faith-based organizations, area businesses and others ‘ to coordinate relief efforts and get help to people in need.
AML-Global was also involved in many other important translation projects over the summer such as public safety training in French and Arabic for our African and Middle Eastern clients.
As an ISO 13485 certified company we continued to provide multi language translations of highly technical operator’s manuals for some of the most well know names in the Medical device industry.
