June is an incredibly busy month for all, being considered the official start of summer. On June 6, D-Day is observed; it commemorates the Allied forces invasion of Normandy, France during the Second World War.’ Flag Day is celebrated on June 14 each year and honors the United States flag and the nation’s freedom. ‘Also, in June is Father’s Day which always falls on the third Sunday in June. This year it is on June 18, and is a day designed to celebrate fathers and father figures.

Historical Tidbits in June

Some interesting historical tidbits that occurred in June: The first U.S. Military service, the Continental Army consisting of six companies of riflemen was established by the Second Continental Congress on June 14, 1775, on June 6, 1944 D-Day began as Allied forces landed in Normandy on the northern coast of France, Robert F. Kennedy was shot while leaving the Hotel Ambassador in Los Angeles he died in hospital nearly 26 hours after the shooting succumbing to his injuries also on June 6, 1968 and on June 18, 1983 Dr. Sally Ride became the first woman in Space.

Interesting Interpreting & Translation Projects Completed in June

We recently completed an interpreting project for SDI Media; a media localization company who offers subtitling, dubbing and media services. This particular project was a live broadcast for Microsoft, over 2 days. For both days, French, Spanish, Brazilian-Portuguese and Italian interpreters were provided. The project was flawless.

Another interesting interpreting project completed in June was for Blake & Ayaz Law Corporation in Los Angeles, California. The project was for a very complex legal trial that required Arabic and Urdu interpreters for 2 days. The job went perfectly.

We completed a translation project for the Virginia Commonwealth University. The job involved translating agendas, exercises and training day schedules from English into Braille. This was an extremely large project and we were able to turn it around impeccably ensuring we keep our client of over 10 years happy. We have worked on past projects for VCU and provided them translation services into many languages including Spanish, Arabic, French, Turkish, Korean, Tagalog, Dutch, Simplified Chinese, German and Serbian, among many others.
