Every year on this day the World Health Organization (WHO) warns about the health risks associated with tobacco consumption. The trade of tobacco products not only brings health problems, but also brings about legal, economic and corruption difficulties. This is a global concern because at least 6 million people are nearly killed per year, and of which more than 600,000 non-smokers are affected by second hand smoke. WHO strengthens its strategies by using graphic warning on cigarette packets, and increasing tobacco tax to dissuade people from smoking.
We at AML-Global applaud the efforts of the World Health Organization (WHO) to bring awareness and understanding of this global problem. We hope that the consumption of tobacco products will continue to decline as more people become educated and abstain from tobacco.
